"The Cost of Keeping Busy"
It was a long weekend — three full days with the kids, which felt like seven.

The weather couldn’t make up its mind. Sunshine in the morning, rain by lunch, a gust of wind just when you thought it was safe to sit down.

So, like many parents do, we pivoted. Day by day. Activity by activity.

Soft play one day. A trampoline park the next. Bowling on the third. We kept them busy, entertained, and smiling — but by the end of it, I realised something:

We’d spent more on keeping them from getting bored than we’d planned for the whole weekend - and that got me thinking about how we run our businesses.

Sometimes we spend our energy — and budget — responding to noise. Reacting to slow days. Jumping on the next shiny thing. Creating just to fill the silence. Marketing just to keep the wheels turning.

But like the weekend, that energy adds up.

It’s not that the activities (or efforts) are bad — but when they’re reactive, not intentional, they can burn through more than they return.

Sometimes the best move isn’t doing more. It’s stepping back and asking: what's actually going to matter next week, not just today?

Think: Are you spending your time and energy keeping your business busy? Or are you building in the quiet, with purpose, toward something that lasts?

What a clever way to advertise a new movie. Instantly recognisable (at least for me).

2/ Ad Wars

I love seeing Ad Wars, Colin vs Wiggles, and now Ronald below..

This week I discovered "AI Samson" and his channel - mainly in his coverage of Google's new video AI generation. It's impressive.
