This weekend we had a BBQ with friends.

The sun showed up, the food was great — but what really stood out? The kids looked after themselves.

No constant interruptions. No hovering. Just a group of adults having full conversations while the kids ran off, made up games, and checked in only for juice refills.

It felt like we’d levelled up.

And it made me think about business.

At first, everything needs your full attention — every email, every post, every customer. You’re in the weeds, hand-holding every little piece.

But eventually, if you’ve built it right, things start to run themselves. Systems take shape. People know what to do. Trust kicks in.

That’s when you can lift your head. Think bigger. Have uninterrupted conversations — with customers, collaborators, or yourself.

Think: Are you still clinging to everything in your business… or are you making space for it to run without you — so you can focus on what really matters?
