I hope your weekend has been awesome. This weekend was intense for me, emergency chidcare, a full day with friends and then a trip to the seaside.

"A Weekend of Switching Gears"​
This weekend was a mix of everything.

Friday, childcare fell through — so the day shifted quickly. Work paused, plans changed, and I was back in parent mode.

Saturday swung the other way: a full day out with friends, sunshine, food, drinks, and a rare stretch of uninterrupted adult time.

Then Sunday came — a family day again. We took a trip to Southport, played mini-golf, wandered, ate more food than planned, and just enjoyed it.

Three days. Three different gears.

It was fun, chaotic, grounding — and it reminded me how important it is to flex between modes, even in business.

Sometimes you’re in caretaker mode — fixing things, supporting others, holding it all together.

Other times, you need that creative freedom — conversations, fresh ideas, big-picture thinking.

And then there’s the play mode — the stuff that looks unproductive but fills you back up so you can actually do the work.

The trick isn’t to stay in one gear. It’s learning when to shift.

Think: Are you stuck in one mode — always working, always fixing, always pushing? Or are you making space to switch gears, recharge, and return stronger?
